Our Story

Our chief scientist and microbiologist, Goran Ďorđič, wanted to find a better way to support microbes where ever they live and work. He managed to do this biologically using a marine algae called Ascophyllum nodosum. Goran’s “eureka” moment came when he isolated and extracted the polyuronic acid and oligosaccharides content from Ascophyllum nodosum. As a result, Ekogea’s intellectual property BioComplex was born.

Ekogea purchases sustainably farmed ‘organic’ quality marine algae from the Outer Hebrides in Scotland. Ekogea UK has a worldwide licence to distribute Ekogea products in the UK and overseas.
