Ian Sawle

Ian is our technical genius. He has been involved with thermal insulation and fluid mechanics for many years and has an ‘in depth’ knowledge of mechanical and electrical design philosophy, dynamic thermal performance and thermal modelling. Over the last 10 years he has obtained a wealth of experience designing and commissioning renewable energy solutions in the Biomass, CHP and Anaerobic Digestion markets. He is qualified as a mechanical Engineer and is a member of a number of professional bodies including ASHRA, CSA and CIBSE. His forward thinking approach enables him to design practical solutions to complex problems quickly and easily. As a result, he targeted Ekogea as a natural partner for the AD and waste to energy market and is now in charge of the technical design aspects of Ekogea UK to ensure the product work seamlessly with both existing and new plants.

Outside work Ian is a qualified rugby coach and keen hill walker with a young family keeping him well occupied.

Ian Cain

Ian is a former partner-level lawyer, tax adviser and financial adviser to family businesses in the UK and abroad.  Ian has operational trading and advisory experience in various sectors through non-executive director board and trustee appointments.  Strong legal and professional contacts internationally have helped Ian to access best advice and best solutions for the businesses he’s supported and grown through a focus on strategy and forward planning strong governance and ‘best practice’ generally.  Ian qualified as a lawyer in 1996, enjoyed 8 years at Eversheds and later appointed Tax Partner at Boodle Hatfield and Executive Director at Goldman Sachs in London.  Ian has a STEP Advanced Certificate in Family Enterprise Advising and is a strong supporter of Britain’s rural heritage and the environment.

David Cosford

With a background in commercial banking and sales, David has built up a wealth of knowledge in the renewable energy market over the last 10 years as Managing Director of 5D Group. Focussed on the commercial and sales side of the business he has worked closely with clients helping them target and install the renewable energy options best suited to them. With a team focussed more latterly on ensuring plants work efficiently in the Biomass and Anaerobic Digestion sector, David has focussed on the Waste to Energy market with fellow Director Ian Sawle. Together they have built a ‘trusted’ reputation that thrives on making renewable energy projects work for their clients. Ekogea was identified as a natural partner and extension to their core activity in the AD market and David’s role is focussed on developing the sales team as well as overseeing the financial management. Outside work David enjoys cycling and walking and also supports charitable causes by organising an annual European Charity Bike ride for the Exeter Chiefs and as Chairman of the Royal Marines Shop.
