Ekogea’s multi-stage modular process marries our biological performance enhancing BioComplex additive with innovative in-house and 3rd party mechanical technologies. This benefits the back-end of the Anaerobic Digestion process by:

Concentration of Post Digestate

Ekogea’s back end processes begin with the concentration of the post digestate:

DE-WATERING PROCESS

Ekogea’s Concentrator allows c. 80% water to be extracted from post-digestate leaving the resultant wet ‘solid’ (20% by volume) more easily stored or transported – or put through a further de-watering process resulting in a dry stackable solid.

FURTHER USE OF CONCENTRATED DIGESTATE

The process reduces the costs and risks of storage and spreading post-digestate to land.

Due to the cation exchange action of the BioComplex in front-end process, the digestate has a much higher plant available NPK value as a biofertiliser.

FURTHER USE OF GREY WATER

The extracted grey water can be re-used on site or treated by Ekogea’s gravity fed and organic H2e Waste-Water Treatment System and be ‘polished’ to meet with Environmental Agency/ NRW standards.

Ekogea’s H2e Waste Water Treatment process is an energy efficient and organic grey-water polishing process:

MICROBIAL PROCESS

A tailored version of BioComplex used in Ekogea’s H2e water treatment plant supports microbial water cleaning process through natural pre-biotic action of oligosaccharides, and reduces levels of nitrous oxide, ammonia and other contaminants in the grey-water through cation exchange capacity (NH3 becomes NH4 for example).
