Increasing the Efficiency of Feedstocks

Ekogea’s front end process both improves the biogas yield for existing feedstocks, as well as increasing the range of feedstocks available to the plant:

40% UPLIFT TARGET

Capable of processing all feedstocks, our front-end system targets 40% uplift in methane from ‘difficult’ feedstocks.

DIFFICULT FEEDSTOCKS

This includes pre-digested waste (slurries, high nitrogen manure and even higher uplifts with sludge), straw and grass.  Ekogea works alongside customers to optimise feedstock mix, reduce input costs, etc.

How Does it Work?

Ekogea’s front end process includes the use of both our biological performance enhancing BioComplex additive with innovative in-house and 3rd party mechanical technologies:

MICRONISATION PROCESS

Feedstocks are processed through a pre-prep milling system and then hydrolysed in readiness for Ekogea Micronisation. High pressure swing (35 to 1 bar) and high-speed result in cellular destruction/ open up lignin.

MICROBIAL PROLIFERATION

The prebiotic effect of Ekogea’s BioComplex additive then supports microbial proliferation whilst cation exchange buffers NH3/H2S.  BioComplex trace elements dispense with need for alternatives. The gel-form nature of BioComplex with Micronisation improves homogeny.

UPLIFT WARRANTIES

Ekogea offers feedstock specific uplift warranties (highest on pre-digested slurry, manures, sludges).
