Ekogea Completes Component Installation On Schedule At "Ground-Breaking" Biogas Site

Anaerobic Digestion

Earlier this month, Ekogea UK and MDG Sub-Contractors completed the installation of the Microniser and Concentrator units at Ecotricity’s new Hill Farm Biogas plant. The completion of delivery and installation was on schedule and means the site is now ready for full commissioning tests in the new year.

This ground-breaking project, led by the ‘green gas’ renewable energy supplier, is due to commence operation in January 2023. The project aims to make Ecotricity the first gas to grid supplier to be fed from herbal lays (a mix of grass and herbs, sown and grown on farmland next in the vicinity of the plant), providing clean, renewable energy to thousands of homes. Once scaled up the project has the potential to save billions on the UK’s net zero plans.

Ecotricity has partnered with Ekogea UK to provide our front-end biogas optimisation systems, to ensure the most efficient biogas yield from the renewable feedstock.
