Ekogea Animal Health Team Attend South West Agritech Showcase

Animal Health, Farm Slurry Management

Members of Ekogea’s Animal Health team attended the first South West AgriTech Showcase event at Exeter Racecourse earlier this spring.

Company Director, David Cosford, and Ekogea’s Head of Animal Health, Mike Clarke, were part of the 150 strong contingent of delegates representing companies from across the South West of the UK.

Collaboration Is Vital To The Future Of Farming

Collaboration was an important theme. Mel Squires, director of NFU South West, in the opening keynote speech stated: “There’s so much uncertainty, so it’s really important that we all work together to make a far bigger impact.” Our team were delighted to be part of the discussion of ideas, synergies and promoting the latest in sustainable agricultural practices and products.

Natural and Organic Solutions for Animal Health

The team were in attendance to promote the use of our natural and organic BioComplex product range. Derived from marine algae, the Animal Health products include our Plus feed ingredient, that significantly improves the gut health of pigs and poultry, and our Boost hygiene spray that improves the cleanliness and safety of the housing environment.

Both products lead to significant improvements in KPIs, compliance with increasing environmental standards, and returns on investment.

Innovative and Unique Farm Slurry Management

Interest was also high in our innovative and unique Farm Slurry Management Process. This revolutionary system converts raw pig and dairy slurry into a concentrated, high value, plant available biofertiliser or a high value feedstock for AD plants, providing a valuable, sellable asset for the farm.

The only other product is grey water that is polished by our natural H2E waste water system to EA standards for reuse on the farm or for discharge to watercourses under permit.
